2008 (Track):
Competed during the outdoor season...placed eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase and 26th in the 5000-meter at the WAC Outdoor Championship...did not compete during the indoor season.

Prior To UH:
Attended the University of San Diego for one year...named team most valuable player for the cross country team.

Prep:
A 2006 graduate of El Camino High School in Oceanside, Calif...lettered four times in cross country and three times in track and field...named to all-league, all-north county, and all-CIF for four years in cross country...had a school-record state finish...member of all-north county cross country championship team for four years...honor roll student.

Personal:
Born in Lima, Peru...has two brothers...parents are Teresa and Marcelo Monasi of Oceanside, Calif.
