2013-14: Finished 8th in the 200 free against Purdue (1/4)...came in 16th in the 200 IM at the Arena Invitational (11/21-23)...finished 7th in the 200 butterfly against Minnesota (1/11).

Prior To UH: Lettered for two years in swimming at Diablo Valley College...part of the team that won the 2013 Big 8 Conference Championships...named Team Captain and Most Inspirational in 2013.

Prep/Club: A 2011 graduate of Granite Bay High School in Granite Bay, Calif...lettered for three years in swimmin...named section champion in 2009 and 2011...part of the team named conference champions from 2008-2011...competed one and a half years for the Sierra Marlins Club and named most inspirational.

Personal: Born in Marteniz, Calif...intends to major in psychology...has one brother, Erik, that plays football at the University of Miami...parents are Dan and Carol Akre of Tuckee, Calif...father, Dan, competed in swiming at Florida State University.
