Biography

2015-16 (Senior):
-Competed in 25 overall singles matches, posting an 8-11 record while going 7-10 in dual matches and 3-3 in Big West contests…four matches were unfinished.
-In dual matches, played five dual matches at No. 2 and 18 on the No. 3 court—including the final 16-straight
-Clinched UH’s upset over No. 64 Arizona (Jan. 24) with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Kinga Gartner on the No. 3 court.
-Also clinched UH’s win over Pacific (Mar. 14) with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz at No. 3.
-In doubles, competed in 26 matches posting an 8-14 overall and 3-5 Big West record.
-In 17 matches with partner Klara Pribylova, posted a 5-10 overall, 3-9 dual match, and 1-4 conference record.
-With Pribylova, played at No. 2 in three matches and No. 1 in 11
-Played the final nine matches of the season all at No. 3 with partner Marina Hruba tallying a 3-4 record together with two matches going unfinished.


2014-15 (Junior):
-Competed in 20 singles and 17 doubles matches
-Went 5-15 overall in singles matches, while posting a 5-12 mark in dual matches and 2-4 in Big West contests
-Went 3-7 in 10 matches on No. 5 court
-Recorded a 5-12 overall doubles record, with a 5-9 record in dual matches and 2-3 mark in conference, partnered once with Paulina Petriskova, three times with Rebecca Faltusz and Martina Kostalova, four times with Cindy Nguyen, and 6 times with Viktoria Malova
-Earned ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors

2013-14 (Sophomore):
-Competed in 29 singles and 30 doubles matches
-Posted a 13-14 overall singles record: 9-9 in dual matches; 4-5 in tournaments; and 4-1 in conference
-Recorded an 0-3 record on No. 3 court; 4-3 mark as the No. 4; and 5-3 at No. 5 singles
-Was 5-3 in her last 10 matches of the season
-In doubles posted a 14-14 record--2-3 with partner Paulina Petriskova; 3-3 with Kelsey Daguio; and 9-8 overall and 7-4 in dual matches with Martina Kostalova
-One of three Rainbow Wahine to earn Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholor-Athlete award in 2014

Prior to UH:
-Played one season at Maryland
-Started the season at the No. 3 singles position before moving up to No. 2
-Picked up victories at No. 3 against Howard, UMBC and Towson
-Won her first two matches at No. 2 in contests with Richmond and VCU
-Played No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with Gabriela Srodowski
-Moved up to No. 1 doubles to team with Vroni Van Berlo against Richmond
-Named to Maryland’s Dean’s List for both semesters of her freshman year
 
Prep:
-A 2012 graduate of San Marino High School where she helped to lead the Titans to four league titles and two Southern California CIF High School Championships
-Earned four varsity letters in tennis and one in track
-At one point was ranked the No. 1 junior in Southern California
-Was a league finalist in 2008, ’09. and ’10 and captured the championship in 2011
-Reached the quarterfinals of multiple national and regional tournaments
-Won the West Coast Championships in 2010
-Was named the Titans’ Most Valuable Player in 2009, ’10, and ’11
 
Personal:

-Born in Los Angeles, Calif.
-Has one younger brother Daniel, who is also an accomplished tennis player
-Began playing tennis at age three
-Played an exhibition with Andre Agassi when she was 7 years old
-Trained at the USTA Elite High Performance Training Center in Carson, CA since she was 9 years old
-At San Marino High School, earned the senior math award and was a volunteer and an intern at Door of Hope which helps to break the cycle of homelessness in the Southern California area
-Is majoring in business (accounting)
-Daughter of Karen Kajihara and Mike Gealer of Los Angeles, Calif.
