Biography

2005 (Track): Qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in three events - 400m hurdles, 800m, and 1500m...competed in only the 800m, where she advanced to the finals and finished seventh (2:08.58)...won a bronze medal at the WAC Championships in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time  of 59.62 seconds...school record holder in the 600m, 800m, and 1500m events...completed the 800m in 2:06.53 at the All-Comers #8 and the 1500m in 4:26.18 at the Occidental Invitational...ranked 25th nationally in the 800m...member of three school record relay teams (4x800m, 1600 Sprint Medley, and 4000 Distance Medley)...holds the school indoor record in the 800m (2:08.46) and 1000m (2:48.94) events.

2004 (Cross Country): Participated at WAC Championships (19:48), finishing 46th...also competed at NCAA West Regional (23:34)...captured two Top 5 finishes at Big Wave Invitational (15:56) and UH Coed-Sprint Invitational (15:35)...competed at Stanford Invitational (15:19) and UC San Diego Invitational (24:15).

2004 (Track): Captured second in 1500m (4:28.75) and fourth in 800m (2:07.48) at WAC Championships in Houston...qualified for NCAA Regionals in both events and finished sixth in 800m (2:06.87), setting a school record...became first athlete in UH history to score points at the NCAA Regionals...also qualified for NCAA Regionals in 400m hurdles (1:00.18) with eighth place finish at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa...named Most Inspirational Athlete.

2003 (Cross Country):
Competed at NCAA West Regionals (24:05)...finished fifth at UH Coed-Sprint Invitational (11:27)...also competed in the Willamette Invitational (19:08.96) and the Arizona State Invitational (20:18.5).

Prep: A 2003 graduate of Lisarow High School in Bellingen, NSW, Australia...event specialties are 400mH and 800m...personal best in the 400mH (62.98) recorded in March 2003 at nationals...best time in 800m (2:11.78) recorded in April 2002, also at the nationals.

Personal: Born May 12, 1984, in Bellingen, NSW, Australia...plans to major in health and sports science...has two brothers and a sister...parents are Faye and John Young of Lisarow, NSW, Australia.
