Tread Rosenthal was voted as the Big West Men's Volleyball Player of the Year as selected by the league's head coaches.
Rosenthal is the fifth Rainbow Warrior to win the top player award following two-time recipients Jakob Thelle (2022 & '23) and Rado Parapunov (2020 & '21). UH's five Player of the Year awards are the most in the league followed by Long Beach State (3) and UC Irvine (1).
Rosenthal helped lead UH to the Big West regular season title with a 9-1 league mark this season. The junior from Austin, Texas leads the Big West and ranks third nationally in assists per set (10.63) while directing the nation's No. 4-ranked offense (.368). He also ranks eighth in the conference in blocking (0.86) and ninth in aces (0.33).
Rosenthal is one of eight semifinalists for the AVCA National Player of the Year award and has been named Big West Setter of the Week a record 11 times this season. Over his career, he has won a total of 23 Big West weekly awards.
Last week, Rosenthal was named to the first-team for the third consecutive year and was one of five Rainbow Warriors selected to the first-team. He guided UH to a runner-up finish in the Big West Championship tournament in Irvine, Calif.
