STOCKTON, Calif. – The 73rd-ranked University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (5-4, 1-0 Big West) recorded an impressive 4-1 victory over Pacific on Wednesday afternoon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. Powered by a commanding performance in singles competition, the Rainbow Warriors secured the win to kick off a demanding four-match road swing in dominant fashion.

Pacific claimed the doubles point, but not without a strong push from Hawai'i. On Court No. 3, the UH tandem of Kent Mueller and Adriano Dzhenev delivered a solid 6-3 victory over Pacific's Christof Schaertlin Coffey and Reuben De Klerk to keep the battle tight. The deciding match shifted to Court No. 1, where Timothy Li and Kosuke Nakanishi squared off against the Tigers' duo of Jonty Giesen and Niv Zuckerman. In a tightly contested showdown, both teams traded momentum before Pacific ultimately edged out the Rainbow Warriors in a dramatic tiebreaker, 7-6 (9-7), to secure the doubles point.

Hawai'i seized control once singles play began and never let up, capturing the first four matches to clinch the win. Dzhenev set the tone with a decisive straight-sets win against Pacific's Reuben De Klerk, 6-3, 6-1. Toa Maeda followed with an equally commanding performance, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory to extend UH's lead. Hawai'i's Nakanishi then notched his second consecutive singles win of the season, battling past Terence Das, 7-5, 6-2. Mueller then clinched the win for Hawai'i on the No. 4 court. After dropping the opening set to UP's Nico Rating, 3-6, Mueller responded, dominating the next two sets 6-1, 6-2 to secure the 4-1 win for the 'Bows.

The Rainbow Warriors continue their road swing at the Golden State Invitational this weekend.  The 'Bows will play a doubleheader on Friday, opening the day against Saint Mary's (CA) at 8:00 a.m. HT. Hawai'i will then face tournament host Sacramento State at 12:00 p.m. HT. Both matches are set to be played at the Sacramento State Tennis Complex in Sacramento.
