IRVINE, Calif. –  University of Hawai'i beach volleyball players Julia Lawrenz and Izadora Stedile have been named the Big West Pairs Team of the Week after a stellar run in the Heineken Queen's Cup. It's the first career honor for the duo and the first time a UH pair has been selected this season.

The Brazilian pair went a perfect 6-0 during the three-day Heineken Queen's Cup while playing all six matches at the top of the order. Their clutch play helped the BeachBows secure the tournament championship as the UH went 5-1 over the weekend. The tandem won four three-set matches with the average margin of victory in the third set by more than five points. The also won a pair of matches in straight sets, including a 21-17, 21-14 win over Emma Eden and Michaela Cyrani of Pepperdine that helped UH clinch the tourney title. Lawrenz and Stedile hold a team-best 8-2 record overall on the season.

The BeachBows head off for their first road trip of the season when they play four matches over two days at the East Meets West Invitational, March 13-14, in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
