Women's Beach Volleyball 05.20.2026 2026 Beach Volleyball Season In Review SEASON HIGHLIGHTS Hawai‘i returned to the winning side of the ledger under the direction of first-year head coach Danny Alvarez.UH started the season with a monumental upset of top-ranked UCLA in the OUTRIGGER Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic.It was just UH's second-ever win over a top-ranked team in 19 tries and first since defeating No.1 Pepperdine in 2015. It also ended a 15-match series slide against the Bruins.The BeachBows finished the year with a 19-14 overall record and ranked 16th in the final AVCA Poll, extending its streak to 137 weeks ranked in the Top 20. UH captured the Heineken Queen’s Cup winning five of six matches, including a 3-2 win over former nemesis Pepperdine.Julia Lawrenz and Izaroda Stedile were named to the All-America second team marking the 11th time in 14 seasons that UH has had at least one All-America citation. Ten seniors concluded their careers at UH, including four-year starter Sydney Miller who reached 75 career, becoming one of only 13 BeachBows all-time to reach the milestone. Five different players earned all-Big West honors, headlined by first-team honorees Lawrenz and Stedile. Kiera Cornman was named to the second team, while Miller and Emily Heintzelman earned honorable mention.Cornman was also named the Big West Freshman of the Year, the sixth Rainbow Wahine to earn the honor and first since 2021.
