Lawrenz And Stedile Named Second-Team All-Americans

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2026 Beach Volleyball All-America Team on Thursday with the Rainbow Wahine top pair of Julia Lawrenz and Izadora Stedile each garnering second-team honors.

It's the first such honor for Lawrenz and Stedile, who became the 14th and 15th All-Americans, respectively, in program history. The tandem – both from Curitiba, Brazil – has played together in all 34 matches this season, going a team-best 23-8 (two matches unfinished). They played all but three of those matches at the top of the order where they went a stellar 21-7.

Lawrenz earned national recognition after a UH career that has seen her be a three-year starter and two-time all-Big West player for the BeachBows. Regarded as one of the top blockers nationally, she was named a first-team all-conference selection just two days ago. Stedile also earned all-Big West first-team honors this past week after an impactful first season at UH. She transitioned smoothly to Division I beach volleyball after a standout four-year indoor career at Hofstra. Ultimately she pulled an All-American double, earning beach second-team honors after being named an honorable mention All-American for the Hofstra indoor team this past fall.

Lawrenz and Stedile are one of 32 players across the nation - 16 on the first team and 16 on the second team - to earn AVCA All-America honors. It marks the fourth time in the last five years a UH pair has earned national recognition. UH has had at least one All-America citation in 11 of the 14 years of the program's existence.
