FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—Lovisa Gustavsson punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships as the University of Hawai'i men's and women's diving teams wrapped up the second day of competition at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on Tuesday at the Wall Aquatic Center.
Gustavsson earned bronze in the 3-meter dive with a cumulative score of 606.10. Her final-round mark of 341.45 is the fourth-highest score in program history. She becomes the first UH women's diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Daphne Wils and Elma Lund in 2021.
The women participated in the 3-meter dive while the men competed in the platform event. Divers who advanced to the finals carried over preliminary scores into the final round.
For the Rainbow Wahine,
Macie Wheeler finished in 16th with a score of 544.40, while
Avery Coates placed in 18th with a mark of 514.20.
Keira Chandler recorded a preliminary score of 237.15 to place 33rd.
On the men's side,
Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo was the lone competitor and placed 17th in the platform dive with a mark of 305.25.
UH concludes competition on Wednesday with the women's platform dive and men's 1-meter dive, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Hawai'i Time (11:30 a.m. Mountain Time) at the Wall Aquatic Center.
