LĪHU'E, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team battled through windy conditions at Ocean Course at Hokuala in the second round of the 49
th John A. Burns Intercollegiate Friday,
The Rainbow Warriors carded a team score of 305 and dropped down the leaderboard to 18
th place at 589 after 36 holes.
Loyola Marymount and Texas A&M share the team lead at 6-under 552, three strokes ahead of UNLV (555), who posted the best round of the day at 274. BYU and New Mexico round out the Top 5 at 558. Individually, LMU's Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh has the clubhouse lead at 6-under, one stroke ahead of Utah's Sergio Jimenez and UNLV's Mason Snyder.
UH's best finisher on the day was
Dane Watanabe who shot 3-over 73 and is tied for 55
th place at 5-over 145. Teammates
Nathan Szpakowicz and
James Whitworth are also at 5-over for the tournament following rounds of 74 and 78, respectively.
Also competing for the Rainbow Warriors are
Cameron Combado (80=154, t-104
th) and
Alec Hilgers (81=158, 110
th). Two others are competing as individuals –
