RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (3-3) dominated their Big West opener at UC Riverside on Thursday. Hawai'i swept the Highlanders, 4-0 at the SRC Tennis Courts in Riverside, Calif. The match between UH and UCR (1-11) was originally scheduled to be played on Wednesday but due to  inclement weather it was rescheduled for Thursday morning.

In doubles, UH took the first point by winning on courts No. 2 and 3. Hawai'i's No. 2 duo of Azuma Visaya and Toa Maeda took care of business by defeating UCR's Owen Pearson and Lucas Mszyca, 6-3. The 'Bows then secured the point on Court No. 3 with Kent Mueller and Adriano Dzhenev taking down Andrew Lavine and Jovan Pedroza in a close match, 7-5.

In singles, the Rainbow Warriors won their first three matches to secure the sweep. UH's No. 1  Visaya quickly defeated UCR's Lucas Ibarrondo Suarez in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. On the No. 2 court, Timothy Li secured his first singles win of the season with a 6-3, 6-1, straight set victory over the Highlanders' Ivaylo Someonov, UH No. 4, Mueller then clinched Hawai'i's second-straight win, knocking off UCR's Pearson, 6-0, 6-4. Mueller remains undefeated in singles play improving to 3-0 on the season..

The Rainbow Warriors continue their road trip on Saturday, Feb. 14 with a dual match at Northern
Arizona. The match will be played at 9:00 A.M. HT at the GCU Tennis Facility.
