ON THE PITCH
DID YOU KNOW?
Nine of
Nalani Damacion's 12 career goals have been game-winners. Damacion is currently tied for second in UH history in career game-winners, trailing only Natasha Kai's astounding program record of 23.
OPERATION MOUNTAIN
The Rainbow Wahine are coming off of a split of their first-ever Mountain West conference matches on a road trip to Colorado, falling to Colorado College before winning 2-0 at Air Force. UH dropped its MW debut to the Tigers, 2-0, on Sept. 24 but responded by shutting out the Falcons on their home pitch on Sept. 27. Hawai'i picked up three key points behind
Nalani Damacion's two second-half goals and
Kennedy Justin's nine saves and clean sheet. The win marked UH's fifth shutout of the season and fourth multi-goal victory. Damacion struck in the 53rd and 82nd minutes while Justin made seven of her nine stops in the second half to lock down UH's first Mountain West conference victory.
SECOND HALF SURGES
The Rainbow Wahine have been a second-half team throughout nonconference play. Hawai'i is outscoring teams 12-2 in the final 45 minutes of matches while owning a 65-52 edge in shot attempts. Additionally, seven of the 12 second-half scores have come in the final 15 minutes of matches. UH has shut out its opponent in the second half in eight of the nine matches, allowing only two second-half goals to Kansas State on Aug. 15. By contrast, the Rainbow Wahine have been out-scored 7-4 in the first half of matches.
PROTECTOR OF THE NET
The Rainbow Wahine will have the luxury of leaning on a veteran presence in the net in junior keeper
Kennedy Justin. Named a preseason Mountain West Player to Watch, Justin has already earned numerous recognitions throughout her first two collegiate seasons. The Long Beach, Calif. native was named the Big West Goalkeeper Player of the Year as a redshirt freshman in 2024 in addition to earning first-team All-West Region honors. She also currently ranks in the UH career top 10 in a number of major statistical categories for goalkeepers.
A STEADY PRESENCE
Senior midfielder
Izzy Ayala has been a constant presence on the pitch for the Rainbow Wahine over the course of her career, and enters this weekend's matches having started 38 consecutive matches dating back to 2024. Ayala had her streak of 1,742 consecutive minutes played snapped during the Aug. 29 match vs. HPU. Prior to that, the senior had played all 90 minutes in 17 straight matches, and was on the field for the entire match 19 times since the start of 2025. Ayala played 96.2 percent of the possible minutes in 2025, spending just 66 total minutes on the bench all season.
» Has played 755 out of a possible 810 minutes (93.2 percent) this season.
» Named a preseason Mountain West Player to Watch.
