The Hawai'i soccer team hits the road to begin conference play in its inaugural season in the Mountain West, taking on Colorado College Thursday and Air Force Sunday.
 
The Rainbow Wahine are back in action for the first time after an 18-day break following the conclusion of nonconference play, also playing their first two road matches of the season. UH and Colorado College have split their two all-time meetings - both coming in the 1990s - while trailing the series against the Falcons, 3-1, with the last meeting coming in 2024 in Honolulu.

STREAKING INTO CONFERENCE PLAY
UH brings a four-match unbeaten streak into Mountain West play, having shut out each of its last four opponents. The Rainbow Wahine are out-scoring teams 12-0 during the four-match stretch, while out-shooting opponents 68-29 including a 31-7 advantage in shots on goal. The unbeaten streak and shutout streak are both the longest by Hawai'i since the 2024 Big West regular season championship season, when the 'Bows went unbeaten in seven consecutive matches while recording five consecutive clean sheets.
 
SECOND HALF SURGES
The Rainbow Wahine have been dominant in the second half of matches, owning a 10-2 scoring advantage in the final 45 minutes. UH has shut out its opponent in the second half in five of the six matches, giving up just two goals in a loss to Kansas State on Aug. 15. On the other hand, the 'Bows are being out-scored 5-4 in the first half of matches.
 
INSTANT IMPACT
Forward Anuhea Aluli has been the Rainbow Wahine's go-to scoring option in her first seven matches in a Hawai'i uniform. Aluli currently leads the Mountain West with 13 points and tied for the lead with six goals, highlighted by a hat trick on Aug. 29 vs. Hawai'i Pacific. She is tied for ninth nationally with three game-winning goals and is first in the conference and 20th nationally with 0.86 goals per match.
 
» Became the first Rainbow Wahine player to record a hat trick since 2018 (Raisa Strom-Okimoto), while her performance was the 14th hat trick in program history.
» Scored six goals in her first six matches, becoming the fastest Hawai'i player to six goals in a season since Natasha Kai in 2004 (7 goals in 6 matches).
» Recorded a point in five consecutive matches from Aug. 15-Sept. 3, becoming the first UH player to do so since 2012 (Tiana Fujimoto).
 
FRESH FACES
Hawai'i's talented freshman class has already begun to make an impact, with a number of them playing key roles through nonconference play. A group of eight freshmen in Parisa Abedi, Cora Bryant, Jas Cayetano, Pana'ewa Cayetano, Olivia Dianda, Ella Gollis and Anna Maertz combined for 1,689 minutes of playing time in UH's first seven matches, including three who have earned a start in at least six of the first seven matches. Additionally, a pair of Rainbow Wahine have already taken home Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors in Dianda (Aug. 24) and Pan'ewa Cayetano (Sept. 7).
 
» Dianda earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors after scoring a goal each in matches vs. Western Michigan and Idaho.
» Pan'ewa Cayetano has started all seven matches on the back line, averaging 79.3 minutes per match.
» Jas Cayetano has two goals and two assists, putting her in second on the team with six points.
» Abedi found the back of the net for the first time in her collegiate career on Aug. 29 while also dishing out an assist later in the match.
» Gollis and Maertz have each gotten extensive action off the bench, with Gollis logging 143 minutes and Maertz earning 127 minutes of playing time through four matches.
