- Hakas, Adeyemi and senior Tyla Reese Mane are the only players on the current roster who were part of the team two years ago.
- Middle blocker Miliana Sylvester led the team in blocks last season with 91 and was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team last season.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- This week's tournament features three teams that enter the season atop the preseason polls of their respective conferences in Hawaii (Big West), Utah State (Mountain West) and San Diego (West Coast). Marquette was voted second in the Big East poll.
- Marquette, Hawai'i and San Diego were among teams receiving votes in the AVCA preseason Top 25.
- Marquette is making its third appearance in the Wahine Volleyball Classic. The Golden Eagles earned a five-set win in the 2017 season opener, which was Robyn Ah Mow's debut as head coach. Marquette swept the 'Bows in the 2021 tournament.
- Utah State and Hawai'i renew a series that began in 1978. The series includes a meeting for the 1979 AIAW National Championship match in Carbondale, Ill. UH won in five sets to claim the program's first national title. The 'Bows and Aggies meet for the first time since a UH sweep in the 2014 Outrigger Resorts Volleyball Challenge.
- UH and San Diego will meet in the season's opening week for the fourth consecutive year. The teams met at the Texas A&M Invitational in 2022 and the Toreros played in the Wahine Volleyball Classic each of the past two years.
