WAIPAHU, O'ahu – The Hawai'i women's soccer team gave up a pair of early goals and couldn't bounce back dropping the finale of the OUTRIGGER Soccer Kickoff to Oregon, 3-0, Sunday at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
The Rainbow Wahine lost at home for just the second time in the last 10 matches dating back to last year while also getting shut out for the first time in four matches in 2025.
The Ducks jumped out to an early lead with a pair of first half goals. After a miscommunication in the Hawai'i back line led to a giveaway, UO's Syndey Chura put away the first score of the match in the fifth minute. In the 27th minute, Carly Cormack doubled the Oregon lead with a goal off of an assist from Chura.
Oregon added a late goal in the 88th minute to give the game its final score.
Brianna Chirpich entered at goalkeeper in the second half and recorded six saves while facing nine shots.
Cate Sheahan led the UH offense with a pair of shot attempts while
Amber Gilbert tallied Hawai'i's only shot on goal.
The Ducks were declared the OUTRIGGER Soccer Kickoff champions by virtue of a goal differential tiebreaker. All four teams in the tournament finished 1-1 after Central Arkansas beat Sacramento State, 1-0, in the first match of Sunday's doubleheader.
The Rainbow Wahine continue their homestand with the OUTRIGGER No Ka Oi tournament starting Thursday at 7 p.m. against Northern Arizona.
