Four Warriors Named To Polynesian Player of the Year Watch List

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i football team placed four members on the 2024 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List – wide receiver Pofele Ashlock, defensive back Peter Manuma, offensive lineman James Milovale, and offensive lineman Kuao Peihopa.
 
The award is presented annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity. The Watch List is composed of 81 players from 40 different NCAA Division I schools.
 
This year marks the second consecutive year that Ashlock was named to the watch list while Manuma, Milovale, and Peihopa are first-time mentions.
 
No UH player has ever won the award however four were finalists – Darius Muasau (2020), John Ursua (2018), Jahlani Tavai (2017), and Scott Harding (2014). 
 
Finalists for the 2025 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award will be unveiled on December 9 and the winner will be announced on December 16. The presentation of the Award will be held during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Celebration Dinner (January 17, 2026) and they will also be recognized during the Polynesian Bowl (January 16, 2026).
