Five Football Games Slated For National Broadcast

HONOLULU – Five University of Hawai'i football games will air nationally this season, highlighted by a repeat appearance on network television in the team's season opener.
 
UH's Week 0 contest versus Stanford, Aug. 23, will air on CBS with a 1:30 p.m. HT kickoff. It marks the second straight season the Rainbow Warriors will be featured on CBS in an early afternoon kick at home. The Rainbow Warriors fell to UCLA, 16-13, in last year's game which was UH's first network home game in 20 years. 
 
One other game will be picked up by CBS Sports Network as part of the Mountain West's television package – Nov. 1 at San José State (4:30 p.m. HT). Meanwhile, a pair of games will air on Fox Sports in UH's Sept. 27 matchup at Air Force (TBA, Fox Sports family of networks) and a Friday, Nov. 21 tilt at UNLV (5:30 p.m. HT, FS1).
 
In addition, UH's road game at Arizona, on August 30 will be on TNT at 4:30 p.m. HT.
 
The Old Trapper Mountain West Football Championship Game will be nationally televised on FOX, Friday, Dec. 5. This season marks the final year of the Mountain West's six-year television contract with CBS Sports and FOX Sports. 
 
Additional broadcasts by Spectrum Sports will be announced in the coming weeks.

Notes
  • The Stanford game will be UH's 10th all-time appearance on network television (5-ABC, 3-CBS, 2-FOX) and its fourth in the last two decades.
  • Seven of the nine previous network television appearances were home games.
  • Including this season, three of UH's last four home games in August have been afternoon starts.
  • For the second time in the last four seasons, UH will play just one home national TV game (also in 2022).
  • Hawai'i will play its first-ever game on TNT when it travels to Arizona on August 30. UH was featured on sister station WTBS back in 1982 (at New Mexico).
  • UH will play a Friday game (Nov. 21 at UNLV) for the first time since its 2023 home opener versus Stanford. The last time UH played a Friday game on the road was in 2020 at Wyoming.
  • UH and UNLV meet on national television for the second straight year. Of the four such meetings, this will be the third held in Las Vegas.
  • UH and San José State will square off for just the second time on national TV as Mountain West opponents. 
  • UH has a current 15-game losing streak on national TV dating back to 2021.
