Men's Swimming & Diving 05.28.2025 2024-25 Men's Swimming and Diving Season In Review SEASON HIGHLIGHTS In Steve Allnutt’s first season as head coach, the team finished runner-up in the Big West Championships in Houston.Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo was named Big West Diver of the Year and Freshman Diver of the Year. Tamayo claimed Big West titles in the 1-meter and platform events.Adam Zdybel earned Co-Freshman Swimmer of the Year, sharing the award with Sam Seybold of Cal Poly.Brandon Blaisdell garnered Big West Men's Diving Coach of the Year honors, helping the UH men's and women's dive teams dominate at the Big West Championships, securing gold in every event.Karol Ostrowski made his second straight appearance at the NCAA Championships, where he set a new UH record in the 100 free with a time of 42.31.The Rainbow Warriors set four conference records at the Big West Championships, including the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay teamsOstrowski set a new UH record in the 200 free with a time of 1:34.36 at the SMU Invitational.The Rainbow Warriors accounted for 13 members of the All-Big West Team and totaled 34 honors.Milan Bukovics and Ostrowski each earned Big West Athlete of the Week honors.Bukovics was named to the Academic All-America Third Team and CSC All-District Team.Bukovics, Tom Caps, Logan Euker, Tomer Goldfaden and Ostrowski earned Academic All-Big West honors.Makena Ginoza was selected as one of 42 student-athletes to receive the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. BUKOVICS NAMED TO CSC ACADEMICALL-DISTRICT TEAM ACADEMIC ALL-BIG WEST TEAM Milan Bukovics, Tom Caps, Logan Euker, Tomer Goldfaden and Karol Ostrowski were named to the Academic All-Big West Team. MAKENA GINOZA EARNS NCAA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP Ginoza was selected as one of 42 student-athletes to be awarded $10,000 as part of the NCAA's Postgraduate Scholarship program. Student-athletes representing winter sports across all three NCAA divisions have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, athletic excellence and leadership within their communities.
