IRVINE, Calif. – Following a monster performance on Senior Day that propelled the Hawai'i baseball team to a conference postseason spot, 
Jordan Donahue earned Big West Player of the Week honors Monday for the first time in his career.
 
The Rainbow Warrior shortstop delivered a career game in Sunday's win over UC San Diego to lead the 'Bows to clinch a spot in the Big West Championship, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored. Donahue provided one of the signature moments of the season with a clutch grand slam in the third inning to break open a close game.
 
In his next at-bat, he smashed another home run to right field, this one a no-doubter for a solo shot to further extend the lead. Two innings later the senior doubled and later in to score on a steal of home on a squeeze bunt attempt to help put the game out of reach.
 
Donahue finished the weekend batting .500 with a team-high eight RBIs, two doubles and three runs scored to go along with two stolen bases. He also delivered in the clutch in Thursday's series opening win, coming through with a two-run single in the fourth inning that put Hawai'i in front for good. Donahue finished that game 1-for-3 with three RBIs.
 
The Mililani, O'ahu native also played a flawless shortstop over the weekend, anchoring a Hawai'i defense that went errorless over the weekend. Donahue's performance keyed a the 'Bows on one of the most consequential series in the recent history of the program, as the winner of the series would have clinched a spot in the Big West postseason.
