Men’s Volleyball Signs Canadian University Star

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball program added Mitchell Croft, a 6-foot-9 outside hitter from Melbourne, Australia by way of MacEwan University in Edmonton, Canada for the 2026 season.
 
Croft is the third signee for the Rainbow Warriors in the Class of 2026 along with setter Magnus Hettervik of Norway and middle blocker Roman Payne of Carlsbad, Calif.
 
Croft played one season at opposite for MacEwan, where he was named to the Canada West All-Rookie team after leading the team and ranking fourth in the conference in kills per set (3.69 avg.). The freshman led or co-led the team in kills in all 19 matches played in and accounted for 38.3 percent of the team's attacking. He also shattered program rookie records for kills, kills per set, points (263) and points per set (4.00 avg.). Croft had 20+ kills in three matches and reached double figures in all but two.
 
A member of the Australian Junior National team, Croft also plays beach volleyball and won the 2021 Australian Junior National beach volleyball championship. He was the starting opposite for Australia's Youth National team (2020-22) and also played for New South Wales' U23 team (2022). He was a member of the Australian Volleyball Academy, leading them to medals in 2022 and 2023 in the Canberra Volleyball League.
 
On the beach, Croft has had a success career which includes Asian Championships appearances, World Pro Tour events, a fifth-place finish in the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games and a trip to the U21 FIVB World Championships in 2023 at age 18.
