Baseball Hosts Crucial Series vs. UCSD on Senior Weekend

HONOLULU – Hawai'i heads into the final week of the regular season with a chance to play its way into the Big West postseason tournament when it hosts UC San Diego.

The Rainbow Warriors and Tritons will play a win-or-go-home series Thursday, Friday and Sunday at Les Murakami Stadium, with the winner qualifying for next week's Big West Championship. UH swept the Tritons last year in La Jolla and have won eight of the last nine meetings dating back to 2022.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?
The Rainbow Warriors will play one of the highest-stakes regular season series in the recent history of the program when they host the Tritons.

» If UH wins two out of three games, it earns a spot in next week's Big West postseason tournament.
» UH can earn the 3-seed and avoid a play-in game with a sweep and UC Irvine sweep of Fullerton.
» A series loss will end UH's season.

MANOA MAGIC
Hawai'i has continued its strong play at home in 2025 with a 23-9 record highlighted by a number of wins in close games. Despite having a 16-game home winning streak snapped earlier this year, the Rainbow Warriors are still 34-9 in their last 43 home games dating back to April 21 of last year. UH has had two separate winning streaks of at least five games at home this year and has walked off six times at home.

SUNDAY FUNDAY
The Rainbow Warriors have enjoyed massive success in Sunday games under head coach Rich Hill - especially at home. Dating back to last season, UH has won 13 of its last 14 Sunday home games and are outscoring teams 116-34 over that stretch. This year, the 'Bows are 7-1 at home on Sundays and are outscoring teams 65-15 in those games, holding opponents to five or fewer runs in all of those contests. During Hill's tenure, UH is 36-14 in Sunday games with a 22-6 mark at home.

ROLL IT
Hawai'i is 12th nationally in double plays turned with 45 heading into the final week of the regular season. The Rainbow Warriors have turned at least one double play in 31 of the 49 games, with multiple double plays in 11 games. Of the 45 double plays, 31 have been inning-ending while 13 have been of the 6-4-3 variety and 10 have gone 4-6-3.
