HONOLULU – The Big West champion University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will make its 10^th NCAA Championship appearance and will meet the winner of Daemen and Penn State in the national quarterfinals, Thursday, May 8, at the Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio.
 
The two-time national champion Rainbow Warriors (26-5) earned the No. 2 overall seed and the Big West's automatic berth after defeating Long Beach State in four sets Saturday in the league's tournament finals in Honolulu. Daemen (15-12) were champions of the Northeast Conference while Penn State (14-15) captured the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association title.
 
The nine-team national tournament begins with an opening round match on Friday, May 2 between Daemen and Penn State. All four quarterfinal matches will be played Thursday with the semifinal round scheduled for Saturday, May 10 and the finals on Monday, May 12.

LBSU received the tournament's No. 1 overall seed and will face eighth-seeded Fort Valley State, champions of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Two-time defending national champion UCLA is the No. 3 seed and will play sixth-seeded Belmont Abbey (17-8), champions of the Conference Carolina tournament. The Beach and Bruins received the two at-large spots.

Loyola Chicago, the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association champion is seeded fourth and will face fifth-seeded Pepperdine, champions of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
 
UH won its first title in 2021 at the Covelli Center, defeating Brigham Young in straight sets. The Warriors return to the national tournament after making four consecutive title match appearances from 2019-23. Hawai'i also captured the 2022 crown in Los Angeles, Calif.
