DID YOU KNOW?
Kamana Nahaku belted five home runs over the weekend at CSUN to earn Big West Player of the Week. He capped off the weekend by tying a program single-game record with three home runs and drove in 12 runs throughout last week.
POWER SURGE
The Rainbow Warriors used the long ball to propel themselves to a series win at CSUN. UH hit 10 home runs during the three-game series, marking the most homers hit by a Hawai'i team over a three-game stretch since at least 2002. The 'Bows came into the series with just seven home runs on the season but more than doubled that thanks in large part to
Kamana Nahaku's five long balls. UH ended the series with a school-record six home runs in Sunday's finale.
MANOA MAGIC ON THE MAINLAND
Hawai'i earned a series win over CSUN thanks to a storybook comeback in Sunday's 14-10 win. UH erased a six-run deficit in the ninth inning by scoring 10 runs in the frame - the most scored in a ninth inning in school history - to clinch the series victory. The Rainbow Warriors dropped game one but evened the series with a 9-3 win in game two thanks to two key late homers. The 'Bows belted 10 homers while 18 of the team's 30 hits in the series went for extra bases.
MIURA HEATING UP
Hawai'i center fielder
Matthew Miura has been on a tear over the last two weeks. Miura is hitting .619 (13-for-21) over the last seven games with nine runs scored and four doubles. He started off that stetch by reaching base in 15 of his 16 plate appearances against UC Davis, including 13 in a row to begin the series. Miura then went 5-for-12 in a road series victory at CSUN, hitting his first homer of the season in game two before delivering the go-ahead RBI double in the finale to help UH erase a six-run ninth inning deficit.
CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH MANA
Outfielder
Kamana Nahaku turned in one of the best weekends in the recent history of the program in a series victory at CSUN. The senior blasted five home runs in the three games, going yard in all three games capped off by a program-record tying three long balls in Sunday's series finale. Nahaku earned Big West Player of the Week honors as he drove in 12 runs over the five games last week while scoring nine runs.
» First UH player to homer in three consecutive games since 2015 (Kaeo Aliviado).
» Only Big West player to hit three homers in a game this year and one of four players nationally to homer at least five times this week.
» First UH player since 2009 (Kolten Wong) and just the sixth ever to homer three times in a game.
» Delivered a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning of a tied ballgame on Saturday.
THE UNHITTABLES
Two of the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff's best arms have also been among the best in the country so far in 2025.
Liam O'Brien and
Isaiah Magdaleno each rank in the top 10 nationally in hits allowed per nine innings and opponent batting average, making Hawai'i the only team in the country to have two pitchers in the top 10 in both categories. O'Brien leads the country in opponent batting average and hits allowed per nine innings while Magdaleno is tops in the nation in WHIP.
