HONOLULU — University of Hawai'i seniors Brooklyn Rewers and Lily Wahinekapu were named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Basketball Academic All-District team on Tuesday in recognition for their performance on the court and in the classroom.
 
Rewers and Wahinekapu helped UH capture its second straight Big West regular-season championship and represented the Rainbow Wahine on NCAA Division I Academic All-District list.

The academic qualification for the Academic All-District teams is a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 90% of the season's games or started in 66% of the games.
 
Wahinekapu was also among the Academic All-District® honorees selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 16.
 
Brooklyn Rewers, Senior
• Majoring in Communications; on track to graduate in May.
• One of three UH players to appear in all 32 games this season.
• Averaged 7.0 points per game and ranked second on the team with 148 total rebounds (4.6 per game).
• Tied for third on the team with 25 3-pointers and also ranked third with 22 blocked shots.
 
Lily Wahinekapu, Senior
• Majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies; on track to graduate in May.
• Appeared in 31 games and started 30.
• Third UH player to be named Big West Player of the Year.
• Voted to the All-Big West first team.
• Led the team with 11.4 points per game, 353 total points and 126 field goals.
• Also led the team in minutes played (28.2 per game), assists (79) and steals (38).
