Box Score MORAGA, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (3-13, 0-2 Big West) fell at Saint Mary's, 4-2 on Thursday at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex. In the loss, senior Quinn Snyder continued his winning ways, notching his ninth-straight singles victory.

Both teams battled it out in doubles. The Gaels won the No. 3 match with Paulo Etcheccoin and Ellison Greco defeating UH's Angus Hill and Sohta Urano, 6-1. But UH's No. 2 duo of Karl Collins and Andy Hernandez evened things with a 6-3 win over SMC's Finley Dyer and Pierre Liutaud. The point was decided on the No. 1 court where the Gaels' Carlos Ramos and Thibaud Maxant edged out UH's Quinn Snyder and Azuma Visaya in a tie-breaker, 7-6 (3). It was the first time this season that Snyder and Visaya joined forces in dual match play this spring.

After Saint Mary's took the first singles match on the No 3 court,  Hawai'i rallied to tie the match at 2-2. UH's No. 2 Snyder swept SMC's Etcheccoin in straight sets to keep his nine-match win streak in singles alive. UH's No. 5 Urano was leading Pierre Lieutaud, 7-6 (7), 5-0 when Lieutaud retired.

Hawai'i's No. 3 Collins won his first set against the Gaels' Maxant but fell in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Saint Mary's then clinched the match as UH's 107th-ranked Visaya fell in three to SMC's Ramos, 7-6 (4), 0-6, 6-0. 

The Rainbow Warriors remain on the road as they head south to take on Cal Poly at the Ronca Tennis Center (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) in a Big West contest on Saturday, March 22 at 9:00 a.m. HT.
