ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sailing team made the long journey to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean this weekend, placing fifth in the South Florida Team Race Feb. 22-23, in Bayboro Harbor.
Competing against a field composed of East Coast schools, UH finished the weekend with a 5-6 record through a double round-robin tournament, including two wins each over Florida State and Rollins College, and a split of the series against host South Florida. College of Charleston swept the competition, finishing first with a perfect 12-0 record.
Hawai'i's squad featured seven sailors –

Vivian Bønsager,
Avery Hogue, and
Stella Taherian.
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the St. Mary's Fleet Race in St. Mary's City, Md., on Mar. 15-16.
