BeachBows Ranked 12th in AVCA Preseason Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2025 AVCA collegiate beach volleyball preseason poll was announced  Friday with the Rainbow Wahine selected 12th.

Three-time defending NCAA champions USC is tabbed as the preseason favorite. The Women of Troy will visit Honolulu next week and headline the season-opening Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic. The powerhouse field also includes No. 2 TCU, No. 3 UCLA,  No. 5 Stanford, No. 7 LMU and No. 11 Arizona State. 

The Rainbow Wahine, who made their third straight NCAA Tournament last year, finished 24-12 overall and ranked No. 11 in the final 2024 AVCA poll. Third-year head coach Evan Silberstein returns a dozen players from last year's team, which captured the Big West crown, while welcoming four newcomers.
 
USC received all 11 first place votes and edged  TCU which garnered 16. National runner-up UCLA received one first place vote as did Big West member Cal Poly which is picked at No. 4. Fellow conference member Long Beach State came in at No. 10.

The BeachBows open the season with the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic, Feb. 20-22, at world-famous Queen's Beach. The tournament features five Top 10 squads and four of the of the top five teams in the nation. UH opens the tournament on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 8:30 a.m. vs. No. 11 Arizona State.
