HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team continues its season-opening homestand by hosting the Bank of Hawai'i Classic on Friday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 23 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
The tournament opens with a Friday matinee featuring the Rainbow Wahine taking on Loyola Marymount in the program's "Education Day" game. Close to 1,200 students from 11 elementary schools around O'ahu are slated to attend the 11 a.m. contest. Portland and Idaho State meet in the second game of the day at 1:30 p.m.
The tournament concludes Sunday with LMU taking on Idaho State at noon and the Rainbow Wahine facing Portland at 2:30 p.m.
The 'Bows enter the tournament at 2-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season following an overtime win over Saint Martin's on Nov. 13.

The Rainbow Wahine will host the Bank of Hawai'i Classic and welcome O'ahu students to Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center on Friday for a special start time of 11 a.m. for "Education Day."
- Friday will feature 1,200 elementary school students enjoying the matchup against LMU for free.
- Along with attending the game, all of the visiting students will have a chance to see parts of the campus as the athletics department has partnered with the admissions office for a full day in Manoa.
- Each student will receive a gift bag from Bank of Hawai'i along with other sponsored items.
- Throughout the game, a special feature will be shown on the video board called "Pop Quiz", with members of the team asking and answering trivia questions.
- UH will also feature a special promotion called "Today's Target," highlighting a point total the 'Bows need to reach or go past for t-shirts to be thrown into the crowd.
- Both games on Friday and Sunday will feature sponsored elements by Bank of Hawai'i, including a Roll-A-Ball or cornhole game with prizes at Gate A.
- Both games will also include a raffle towel toss courtesy of Bank of Hawai'i.

'BOWS NOTES
- The Bank of Hawai'i Classic is the front end of back-to-back tournament weekends for the Rainbow Wahine. They'll also host the three-day American Savings Bank Rainbow Wahine Showdown Nov. 28-30.
- UH enters the week with an all-time record of 799-600 since the program began collegiate competition in 1974.
- The Rainbow Wahine went 2-0 in last year's Bank of Hawai'i Classic for the first time since 2017.
- UH will face three West Coast Conference members in the next two weekends in LMU, Portland and Santa Clara (Nov. 30).
- Through two games, UH's top five scorers are newcomers, including four true freshman.
- Guard Bailey Flavell led the 'Bows in scoring in both of their wins. The freshman is averaging 14.5 points per game on 42.3% shooting from the field.
- Freshman Kyra Webb has provided production off the bench through two games with a team-high 17 rebounds (8.5 per game) and 7.0 points per game.
- Freshman Keiara Curtis sparked the 'Bows with 14 points off the bench in UH's overtime win over Saint Martin's. As a team, UH averages 28.5 bench points per game.
- Senior Saniyah Neverson has made an instant impact as a transfer. The forward averages 7.5 points and 7.5 rebounds so far.
- Teyahna Bond has started with Flavell in UH's all-freshman backcourt in UH two exhibition games and the first two games of the regular season.
- UH is the only Big West team without a loss through the first two weeks of the season. The 'Bows have played the fewest games in the conference so far.
- The 'Bows will play their first seven games at home before embarking on their first road trip of the season for the Big West's Bold Week in early December.
- UH was voted first in the Big West Preseason Coaches Poll for the fourth consecutive season and ranked 20th in last week's Collegeinsider.com Mid Major Top 25.
- The Rainbow Wahine feature 11 international student-athletes on their 15-player roster — six from Australia, three from New Zealand and one each from Canada and Italy.

- UH and Portland will meet for the 10th time in a series that began in 1989.
- UH is 1-3 at home against Portland with the lone win coming on Dec. 4, 1992.
- UH won the first two meetings with Portland. The Pilots have won the last seven, starting in 2010.
- Sunday's game will be fourth meeting in the last five years. Portland played in the 2021 Bank of Hawai'i Classic and UH visited Portland in 2022 and faced the Pilots in the 2024 season opener.
- Michael Meek is in his seventh season as Portland head coach and has a record of 132-63.
- Portland entered the week at 2-1 and coming off a 107-26 win over Warner Pacific on Nov. 11. They play at USC on Tuesday before making the trip to Honolulu.
