HONOLULU — After sweeping a two-match Big West homestand, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team received two of the conference's weekly awards on Monday.

Bri Gunderson was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season and sophomore
Adrianna Arquette earned her second Big West Setter of the Week award following UH's wins over CSUN last Friday and CSU Bakersfield on Sunday. Both received their first Big West awards of the season on Sept. 8.
Gunderson's dominant weekend at the net was highlighted by 13 total blocks with an average of 1.86 blocks per set in the victories over the Matadors and Roadrunners. Gunderson had six blocks, including a solo stuff, against CSUN and added seven blocks in a win over CSUB. Gunderson helped UH post double-digit blocks in both matches and the Rainbow Wahine defense limited CSUN and CSUB to a combined .034 hitting percentage. Gunderson's defense complemented a brilliant offensive performance in which she hit .531 with 20 kills in 31 attempts with just two errors. Gunderson leads the team with 99 total blocks and ranks third in the conference with 1.16 blocks per set.
Arquette averaged 10.86 assists per set and turned in her ninth double-double of the season to help the Rainbow Wahine sweep their homestand. The sophomore dished out 33 assists while directing the 'Bows to a .316 hitting percentage as a team in the sweep of CSUN. Two days later, she distributed 43 assists and came up with 14 digs against CSUB and also served up two aces and was in on four blocks. She also accounted for two kills in both matches. Arquette now ranks fourth in the Big West with 8.68 assists per set.
The Rainbow Wahine (11-14, 7-7 Big West) have won four of their last five matches and will take a three-match winning streak into their final road trip of the regular season. They'll open the trip at UC Santa Barbara (18-8, 10-4) on Friday then travel to Cal Poly (21-5, 12-2) for a Saturday matchup.
