Women's Volleyball Falls in Four at UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif. — The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team pushed Big West leader UC Davis deep into each set before falling in four in Thursday's conference match at the University Credit Union Center in Davis, Calif.

The teams split the first two sets and the Rainbow Wahine (8-14, 4-7 Big West) had two opportunities at set point in the third before the host Aggies (15-5, 11-1) finished off the set on their way to a 25-21, 22-25, 28-26, 25-20 win. In all, there were 36 ties and 16 lead changes in the match before UC Davis completed a sweep of the regular-season series with UH.

Miyasaki sparked UH with back-to-back aces early in the second set and UH raced out to a 14-7 lead. The 'Bows led 21-13 when Sylvester put away a kill but the Aggies put together a 7-1 run to close the gap.
