KĀ'ANAPALI, Maui – University of Hawai'i's
Anson Cabello shot a 2-under 69 in the final round of the Kā'anapali Classic by OUTRIGGER Wednesday at the Royal Kā'anapali Course.
The Maui native finished the tournament with a 10-under 203 total and a tie for 14
th place among the field of 120. Cabello's 54-hole score of 203 is tied for the second-lowest in program history and tied for the sixth lowest to par.
UH finished in a tie for 16
th place at 4-under 848 after a final round 290.
Oklahoma captured its fourth consecutive Kā'anapali Classic title with a tournament-record 63-under 789 while OU's Ryder Cowan grabbed medalist honors at 20-under 193, tying the individual 54-hole record, and edging out TCU's Sam Udovich by one stroke.
TCU (801) finished runner-up followed by Georgia (805), Florida Gulf Coast (812), and Colorado (815).
James Whitworth shot even par 71 to finish at 1-under 212 and a tie for 63
rd.
Dane Watanabe and
Chris Salem both finished the tournament at 5-over 218 and a tie for 94
th after rounds of 73 and 77, respectively.
Nathan Szpakowicz finished with an 81 to finish at 224 and 106
th place.
Three others competed as individuals –
Alec Hilgers (77=229, 112
th),

th).
The Warriors close out their fall schedule with the inaugural Pearl at Kalauoa Invitational, Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Thursday, Nov. 6.
