COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Hawai'i quarterback
Micah Alejado was named the Mountain West's Freshman of the Week after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a 31-19 victory over Colorado State Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo.
The Las Vegas, Nev., native threw for 301 yards on 26-of-38 passing and three touchdowns. He eclipsed 300+ yards passing and 3+ touchdowns for the third straight game, becoming the only FBS quarterback to do so this season.
Two of his touchdowns went to
Jackson Harris, including a 75-yarder in the second quarter. He also connected with Harris on a 9-yard score in the third quarter and a 17-yarder to
Nick Cenacle in the first quarter.
Alejado earned his fourth freshman of the week award this season and fifth of his career. The redshirt freshman helped the Warriors become bowl eligible for the first time since 2019 and extend their season win streak to three, the longest in the
Timmy Chang era.
UH is also off to its best start through eight games since 2018. The Warriors are idle this week and return to action at San José State, Nov. 1 in San José, Calif.
