Men's Basketball Routs Pomona-Pitzer in Exhibition

HONOLULU — A new-look University of Hawai'i men's basketball team ran away from Pomona-Pitzer in a 101-51 exhibition victory on Saturday at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

With eight newcomers in the rotation, the Rainbow Warriors shot 59.7% from the field and assisted on 23 of 40 made field goals in their public debut ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Six UH players scored in double figures led by center Isaac Johnson and guard Dre Bullock, who each finished with 18 points and shot a combined 14-for-16 from the field.

Forward Harry Rouhliadeff, one of the 'Bows' four returnees, finished with 15 points. Guard Hunter Erickson scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half and Isaac Finlinson and Jalen Myers added 10 each.

Tanner Cuff, who celebrated the birth of a daughter earlier in the week, filled the stat sheet with eight points and a team-high eight rebounds and seven assists.

UH shot 53% from the field in the first half led by Erickson's 4-for-5 shooting performance and Bullock's 11 points.

The Rainbow Warriors scored the game's first six points, including a corner 3-pointer by Rouhliadeff, and UH opened up a 21-9 lead when Myers finished through contact and completed the three-point play.

After Pomona hit its first 3-pointer to get to within 10, Johnson scored inside while drawing a foul to spark a 12-2 UH run. Johnson threw down a dunk and Bullock scored on a drive to extend the lead and Erickson's layup sent UH into halftime with a 47-25 lead.

The 'Bows outscored the Sagehens 19-4 to open the second half and led 66-29 when Bullock drained a 3 and Myers scored inside. The 'Bows continued to pull away and finished the night with 66 points in the paint with Johnson going 8-for-9 from the field.

Bullock went 6-for-7 with two 3-pointers and nine UH players contributed to the scoring.

The Rainbow Warriors continue their preparations for the regular season with their second exhibition game on Oct. 26 against Chaminade at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
