HONOLULU – The Hawai'i women's cross country looks to close out its regular season strong when it travels to the Highlander Invitational Saturday.
The Rainbow Wahine will send a squad of eight student-athletes to compete in the 6k invitational event beginning at 5:40 a.m. HT.
UH is coming off a third-place finish at the Charles Bowles Invitational.
Lucy Milliner broke the program 5k record and picked up her second win of the season with a time of 16:45.10 on the way to earning Big West Athlete of the Week honors.
Emilie Kirk Langschwager joined Milliner in the top 10, running 17:26.00 to place eighth for her third consecutive individual top 10 to start the season.
Zola O'Donnell made it into the top 20 with a 5k personal-best mark of 17:52.90 placing 20th.
Lucy Becker also posted a 5k PR with a time of 18:05.80 to place 30th. Meanwhile
Harriet Greentree ran 18:23.00 to finish off the UH scorers in 44th.
Following this weekend's action, the Rainbow Wahine will host the 2025 Big West Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships. The event will be held at Kapi'olani Park in Honolulu, on Oct. 31. The meet will start with the men's 8k Race at 7:30 a.m. HT and finish with the women's 6k race at 8:30 a.m. HT. The awards ceremony will follow both races at 9:30 a.m. HT.
