Men's Volleyball Continues Homestand Against Harvard

HONOLULU – The No. 4 University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team continues its six-match season-opening homestand with a two-match series against Harvard, Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Friday, Jan. 10 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Warriors (2-0) are coming off a series sweep of McKendree last week while the Crimson (0-0) will be opening their 2025 season.

FIRST SERVE
  • UH leads the all-time series 2-0 with both matches played in Honolulu as part of early season tournaments.
  • The teams first met in 2016 during the second day of the OUTRIGGER Invitational with UH winning 25-22, 25-21, 25-22. The teams met again in 2020 on the second day of the Raising Cane's Rainbow Warrior Classic with Hawai'i prevailing 25-17, 25-18, 25-17.
  • UH has a 32-10 combined record against current members of the EIVA. Hawai'i has a 17-10 mark against Penn State and 15-0 combined record versus the league's six other teams.
  • Hawai'i will host two other EIVA members this season with a two-match series against Princeton next week and a single match in March versus Penn State as part of the OUTRIGGER Invitational.
  • Harvard finished with a 12-13 overall record last season and placed fifth in the final EIVA standings. The Crimson were picked fifth in this year's EIVA Preseason Poll while senior OH Logan Shepherd and senior OPP Owen Fanning were named to the Watch List.
  • UH took both ends of a two-match season-opening series with McKendree last week in Honolulu. Freshman OH Adrien Roure led the way with 30 kills (4.29 avg.) in the series, hitting at a .404 clip. Freshman OPP Kristian Titriyski added 22 kills (4.40 avg.) and a team-best five service aces.
  • Roure is the reining Big West Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week while sophomore Tread Rosenthal received the inaugural Setter of the Week award.
  • UH coach Charlie Wade and Harvard coach Brian Baise are two of the longest current head coaches in NCAA Division I-II. Wade is in his 16th season at UH while Baise is in his 15th season with the Crimson, which ranks eighth and ninth, respectively.
  • Wednesday's series opener is the first of four Wednesday matches this season for the Rainbow Warriors. UH has won its last seven Wednesday matches dating back to the start of the 2023 season.
  • UH has a 115-11 (.913) record at SimpliFi Arena since the start of the 2017 season.
