Men's Tennis Takes on Arkansas Twice

HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team continues its season opening homestand with a pair of dual matches against Arkansas. Both dual maches will be played at the UH Tennis Complex at 4:00 p.m. HT.

HAWAI'I RAINBOW WARRIORS (0-2, Big West)University of Hawaii Logo• The Rainbow Warriors opened the 2025 season last week facing off against No. 10 Florida State and No. 43 SMU in the two-day Manoa Classic tournament and dual matches against each school.
• UH's 77th-ranked Azuma Visaya upset #22 Jamie Connel to kick the year off in straight sets. 
• UH rookie Gervase Ngo and Karl Collins both notched singles victories on Day 2 of the Manoa Classic last week. Collins also combined with Diego Dalisay to record UH's lone doubles win of the day over SMU's Noah McDonald/Xavier Calvelo, 6-2.
• In UH's dual match against #10 Florida State, the 'Bows came out firing, clinching the doubles point to start the day. The No. 2 duo of Collins/Dalisay nearly tossed a shut out, finishing with a 6-1 win over FSU's Jan Sebasta and Joshua Dous-Karpenschhif. UH's No. 1 pair of Visaya and Tianhao Hou captured the point by holding off Alex Bulte/Erik Schiessl by a break, 6-4.

Series Record: Arkansas leads UH, 4-0 vs. UH
Last meeting: The Razorbacks also opened last season in Honolulu. Arkansas defeated UH, 7-0 on Jan 12, 2024.
Team notes: Leading Arkansas into the 2025 Spring season is 85th-ranked freshman Jakub Vrba who went 3-1 in October's ITA Central Region Championship 
• The Razorbacks are coming off their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021 and finished the season ranked No. 31, the highest year-end team ranking since 2016. The team recorded their most wins in a season since 1986 (21) and achieved a streak of five straight victories over ranked opponents, the longest streak since 1985.
