HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fell to SMU, 7-0 on Monday morning at the UH Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs, who began the month ranked at No. 43 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll quickly won the doubles point winning 6-0 and 6-1 on courts #3 and #2 respectively. UH's Azuma Visaya and Tian Hao Hou were locked in a battle on the No. 1 court, trailing 3-4 when SMU captured the doubles point.

In singles, 77th-ranked Visaya dropped his opening set vs. 48th-ranked Trevor Svajda in a tiebreaker. Svajda then rolled to a straight-set victory at No. 1, 7-6 (6), 6-1. UH's Hou put up a good fight vs. Georgi Georgiev, but fell in two, 6-2, 6-4. 

The Rainbow Warriors continue their month-long homestand with a pair of dual matches against Arkansas. The 'Bows will face the Razorbacks on Thursday, Jan. 9 and Friday, Jan. 10 at the UH Tennis Complex. First serve for both matches is slated for 4:00 p.m. HT.
