HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be hosting their final two home meets this week. First, UH will first host Harvard and Arkansas in a meet on Thursday, Jan. 9. Hawai'i with then host their Senior Night meet against Whitman on Saturday, Jan. 11. Both meets will be held at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex with the swim portion beginning at 5:00 p.m. HT..

The UH swim team last saw action in a dual meet against UC Santa Barbara in Malibu, Calif..
Hawai'i's women's team had strong showings led by Arianna Sakellaris won first place in the 1,000 Free with the fifth fastest time in UH history at 10:03.63. Sakellaris later finished second in the 500 Free, clocking in with a time of 4:52.53 which ties her with Emma Berry (2007) for the ninth-fastest time in the UH record books. UH's Mandolin Nguyen also had a solid meet, winning the 200 Breast with a time of 2:14.91 and finishing second in the 100 Breast coming in at 1:01.55. Mia Blazhevska Eminova held off UCSB's Taryn Emprensilapa by two-hundredths of a second to finish first in the 100 Free with a time of 51.20.
Overall,
Catherine Belyakov has been solid all season long. The senior transfer earned her third Big West Athlete of the Week honor on Nov. 26 after performing well at the SMU Invite. She won the 200 individual medley with the second-fastest mark (1:57.82) in UH history. In the 400 individual medley prelims, she swam the fourth-fastest time (4:17.74), placing her in the top-10 in four events (100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley) in Rainbow Wahine history.
For the Rainbow Warriors, Milan Bukovics won the 200 Fly against UCSB with a time of 1:47.67. Bukovics also posted an NCAA B cut qualifying time in the 200 Back with a mark of 1:53.50. Jordan Meacham tied for first place with Austin Sparrow. Both touched the wall at 20.06. UH's Deiterich Meyer (20.17) and Edward Stoddard (20.53) finished in third and fourth respectively in the race. Meacham also finished second in the 100 Free behind UCSB's Sparrow. Meachem clocked in with a time of 44.34. UH finished #2, 3, and 4 in the event with Finn Brophy (44.74) and Meyer (45.05) coming in right behind Meacham.
Overall, Karol Ostrowski has led the 'Bows, garnering Big West Athlete of the Week honors on Nov. 26 as well. Ostrowski set a school record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:34.36, replacing teammate Mario Surkovic who held the previous record with a time of 1:34.49. The speedy senior now holds school records in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. Ostrowski won the 50 freestyle at the SMU Invite, setting a new pool record for the Roberson and Lindley Aquatics Center with a time of 18.99.
