HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued to compete against No. 9 UCLA and No. 10 California on Day Two of the Rainbow Wahine Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine fought hard all day, winning two of their doubles and three singles matches on the second day of competition.
 
Hawai'i's senior duo of Ana Vilcek and Nikola Homolkova nearly shutout California's Jessica Alsola and Greta Greco Lucchina, 6-1 to start the day off. Soon after, the UH pairing of Hanna Galindo and Makeilah Nepomuceno paired up to cruise past UCLA's Mia Jovic and Bianca Fernandez, 6-2.
 
In singles, UH's Emma Forgac held off UCLA's Jovic by a break in the first set, then breezed to the straight set win, 6-4, 6-1. Hawai'i's Peppi Ramstedt defeated the Golden Bears' Sophie Hernandez in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2 for UH's second win of the day.
 
The Rainbow Wahine competed well against the high-powered Bruins and Golden Bears in the other matches as well. UH's Galindo won the second set and pushed Cami Brown to the limit in the three set loss, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. Vilcek battled UCLA's Ahmani Guichard, falling by just a break in both sets, 6-4, 6-4. Homolkova blanked Cal's Greta Greco Lucchina in the first set, but fell by a break in the second and then lost in three, 0-6, 6-4, 6-3.
