HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's teannis team (2-1, 1-0 Big West) wraps up its season-starting month-long homestand with a pair of dual matches against Saint Mary's (CA) and North Dakota. The Rainbow Wahine will take on the Gaels (0-1, WCC) on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10:00 a.m. HT followed by the Fighting Hawks (2-0, Summit League) on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 11:00 a.m. HT. Both matches will be held at the UH Tennis Complex.

HAWAI'I RAINBOW WAHINE (2-1, 1-0 Big West)
• The Rainbow Wahine enter Week 5 with a 2-1 overall record. Last week, they opened their Big West season with a 5-2 win over CSUN. The 'Bows won the doubles point then jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead before the Matadors started rallying for a pair of wins on courts 3 and 4. UH's No. 2
Peppi Ramstedt clinched the match winning by retirement over Victoria Santibañez Luna in three sets. UH's No. 1
Ana Vilcek then held off CSUN's Yuliia Zhytelna in three sets to cement the win.
• In singles,
Joelle Lanz leads Hawai'i with a 5-4 overall record. she has won three of her last four matches--including a 6-1, 6-2 win over CSUN's Madison Shepperson. Ramstedt is right behind Lanz with a 4-5 record and she is now a perfect 3-0 in dual matches.
• In doubles, UH's

Makeilah Nepomuceno and
Nikola Homolkova/Vilcek are tied for a team-best 4-7 overall record. In dual matches, Galindo and Nepomuceno lead UH with a 2-1 record.
• The Rainbow Wahine opened the season with a pair of high-powered tournaments. First UH hosted No. 9 UCLA and No. 10 California in the Rainbow Wahine Spring Invitational to open 2025. The 'Bows followed by hosting the defending NCAA Champions and No. 2-ranked Texas A&M Aggies and the 17th-ranked USC Trojans last week in the four-day Weinman Foundation Invitational.
SAINT MARY'S GAELS (0-1, West Coast Conferenc)
Series Record: UH leads series, 9-3
Streak: SMC won the last two meetings
Last meeting: The Gaels won the last meeting on April 13, 2008 in Fresno, Calif., 6-1. UH and SMC were supposed to play again in 2019 in Moraga, Calif., but were rained out.
Team notes: Last week, St. Mary's lost its first dual match of the season to Big West opponent UC Davis 4-3. The Aggies held off the Gaels for the doubles point that was decided on a 7-6 (12-10) win by UCD's Mika Ikemori/Isabella Bringas over SMC's MiaAngelina Ruga and Olivia Rook on the No. 2 Court. St. Mary's Iman Khan (No. 1), Olivia Rook (No. 4) and Stefanie Silva (No. 5) all recorded singles wins.
• Junior Madison Weekley earned the WCC's Singles Player of the Week to start the season after going a perfect 3-0 at the Cal Winter Invite.
NORTH DAKOTA FIGHTING HAWKS (2-0, Summit League)

Team notes: The Fighting Hawks have started the 2025 season with road wins at Eastern Illinois (6-1) and at Lindenwood (7-0).
• North Dakota will face Hawai'i Pacific first on Friday, Jan. 31 prior to their match vs. UH
• Junior Andrea Pineda earned the Summit League's Performer of the Week award after going 2-0 in both singles at No. 1 and 2-0 at No. 3 doubles.
• In all, five players have started the season at 2-0 in singles and in doubles, all three pairs enter this week undefeated
• Both the men's and women's North Dakota tennis teams will be playing UH on Saturday.
