Box Score KAILUA, O'ahu—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (0-6) was edged out by cross-town rival Hawai'i Pacific, 4-3 on Friday night at the Kailua Racquet Club.
 
The Sharks captured the doubles point by winning on Courts No. 1 and 2 to take the early 1-0 lead.
 
Hawai'i's match was highlighted by its three win in singles. On the No. 1 court, Quinn Snyder won his second-straight match, coming from a set down to later cruise to victory over Jakub Beran, 6-7 (0), 6-4, 6-1. Karl Collins also fell in the first set, then battled his way back to take down HPU's Mile Matic at No. 2, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-3. And rookie Tianhao Hou defeated Finnegan Heber in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
 
Hawai'i head coach fell in his first meeting against his alma mater and former team (as head coach).
 
After a busy start to the 2025 season, the Rainbow Warriors will have 14 days off before facing North Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 4:00 p.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.
