HONOLULU – The Hawai'i women's cross country team kicks off its 2024 season Saturday when it hosts the Big Wave Invitational at Kahuku Golf Course.
The meet will begin with the men's 5k at 7:05 a.m. followed by the women's 5k at 7:45 a.m. UH will be joined by Chaminade, Hawai'i-Hilo, Hawai'i Pacific, and Pacific.

The Rainbow Wahine roster will feature a good mix of returnees and newcomers, as UH's roster will be made up of six returnees and seven newcomers.
The group of six returnees will be led by sophomore
Emilie Kirk Langschwager, who turned in a strong freshman season in which she moved into the UH all-time top five in both the 5k and 6k. Another sophomore,
Zola O'Donnell also returns after finishing in the Rainbow Wahine top five in all six meets she competed in. Four others who competed in 2023,
Alizee Garcia Parsons,
Breea Selbrede,
Nicole Sevcikova and
Alexandra Zanon all return for the second year with the Rainbow Wahine.
Hawai'i also brings in a talented group of seven newcomers. Senior
Sariah Hernandez joins the program after spending three seasons at Southern Utah, where she posted PR times of 17:10.0 (5k) and 20:25.2 (6k), both of which would be second all-time at UH.
The 'Bows also add a group of five highly-touted freshmen to the program. A trio of talented freshmen out of California,
Emily Donofrio,
Kira Moe and
Gemma Warman will be joined by Oregon native
Lucy Becker and England's
Lucy Milliner. UH also adds junior
Bella De Freitas to the roster.
