TULSA, Okla.—University of Hawai'i men's tennis players
Diego Dalisay and
Azuma Visaya opened the 2024-25 season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.. Both fell in the Pre-Qualifying Round of 128 on Saturday.
Senior Dalisay kept things close in the first set, losing by a break and fell in straight sets to Duke's Connor Krug, 6-4, 6-2.
Visaya, a junior transfer, was just edged out by South Carolina's Sean Daryabeigi. The first was knotted at 6-6 and was determined by a tie-breaker and in the second set Daryabeigi won by a break to advance with a 7-6 (4)m 6-4.
Dalisay and Visaya will continue action at the ITA All-Americans in the Pre-Qualifying Consolation Round on Sunday. Dalisay will battle Theo Winegar of Dule at 6:30 a.m. HT while Visaya will take on Washington's Cesar Bouchelaghem at 6:30 a.m. HT. Both matches will be played at LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Okla.
