ON THE PITCH
DID YOU KNOW?
Freshman Nalani Damacion leads the Big West and is one of just three freshmen nationally with three game-winning goals this year. She has scored the go-ahead goal in all three of UH's wins.

TURNING UP THE PRESSURE
The Rainbow Wahine have turned up the offensive pressure in recent matches, and currently lead the Big West averaging 15.2 shots per game. UH has fired off 13 or more shots in each of the last five matches, averaging 18.6 attempts per contest over that stretch. UH has attempted double-digit shots in seven of its nine matches this year and has out-shot their opponent six times. Brynn Mitchell leads the conference averaging 2.78 shots per match while Cate Sheahan is fourth at 2.56 per match and Nalani Damacion is seventh, attempting 2.11 shots per contest.

PLENTY OF OPTIONS
Hawai'i has displayed its depth throughout the first eight matches of the season, as 13 players are averaging  at least 45 minutes per match. Additionally, 20 different players started at least one match while 10 different players have recorded a point. The 'Bows have been able to keep most of its roster relatively fresh through the nonconference slate, as 24 different Rainbow Wahine have gotten minutes and only two players are averaging over 70 minutes per match.

LEAVING THE PNW WITH A WIN
The Rainbow Wahine concluded their 10-day, three-match road trip to the Pacific Northwest with a 2-1 win at Portland State last Thursday. UH dominated possession all game long, finishing with a 25-3 advantage in shot attempts with 11 shots on goal. The 'Bows took a while to break through however, trailing 1-0 after 81 minutes despite taking 22 shots. Hawai'i finally equalized in the 82nd minute when Cate Sheahan found the back of the net off an assist from Zoe Park to tie it up at one. A few minutes later, Nalani Damacion gave the Rainbow Wahine the lead with a strike from the top of the box in the 85th minute to make it 2-1. UH's 25 shot attempts were its most since Oct. 24, 2021 while the 'Bows out-shot an opponent by 20-plus attempts for the first time since Aug. 22, 2010 vs. Wagner (23-1). Hawai'i dropped its first two matches of the road trip, falling 3-1 at Seattle U on Sept. 5 and 2-0 at Eastern Washington on Sept. 8.

TALE OF TWO HALVES
It's been a tale of two halves for the Rainbow Wahine so far in 2024, as UH has been outscored 13-4 in the first half of matches while outscoring teams, 6-4, in the second half. Hawai'i has trailed at the half in seven of the nine matches this year and have given up a goal in the opening 45 minutes in all but one game. On the other hand, the Rainbow Wahine have held opponents scoreless after halftime in five of the nine matches and have not allowed multiple goals in the second half all season. UH has come back to win two matches in which it has trailed at any point and have scored multiple second-half goals in each of the three wins.
