Improvements To Football Game Day Experience

Fans attending University of Hawai'i football home games this season can expect new enhancements to improve the game day experience at Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.

Hawking & Cans – To increase the efficiency of the concession lines, UH Athletics has worked with their vendor Sodexo to allow beer cans to be sold without pouring into a cup at all beverage locations. Allowing cans to be sold will increase the efficiency of the lines and a greater variety of beverages. In addition, hawkers will roam the stands selling beer and water directly to the fans with wristbands. Sodexo will also have additional ID check points at Gates 2, 3 and 7 to speed up the beverage lines and allow those using the hawkers to get wristbanded without standing in a beverage line.

Pregame fan event – The popular "Kickoff at the Les, presented by Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union" pre-game fan event returns this season with live entertainment, vendors, Keiki Zone and more beginning two hours prior to kickoff at Les Murakami Stadium. Fans must have a game ticket to attend. "Kickoff at the Les" will run prior to Games 1-4 before moving to UH-Manoa's Legacy Path for the remainder of the season due to construction at Murakami Stadium. The "Pā'ina on the Path" will be held at Legacy Path beginning on the Oct. 26 Homecoming game against Nevada. Legacy Path is the walkway from Dole Street to Campus Center.

Tailgating – Limited tailgating will be allowed for the Nov. 30 season finale against New Mexico in a new, permitted, designated area on the UH-Manoa upper campus. Details will be announced later.

Food vendors – Fans will be able to partake in their favorite food and beverage from more than 20+ local food vendors inside the Ching Complex, along with Sodexo Concessions located in the Ching Complex building, Les Murakami Stadium, and the endzones, featuring garlic fries, chicken strips and Eisenberg hot dogs.

Game themes for all seven home games have been set.
  • DELAWARE STATE: To kick off the season we celebrate with our new department wide "We're Hawai'i" theme. Recognizing the uniqueness of our fan base, and what makes the University of Hawai'i special. Hawaiian Airlines will be handing out 4,000 roster cards and 3,000 UH hand fans inside Gate 2. The UH marketing team will be distributing 2,000 2024 Rainbow Warriors collectable schedule posters at Gate 2, Gate 3, and Gate 8. In honor of the 2024 Summer Olympics we'll honor current and former student-athletes who represented their home countries as Olympians. We also welcome back the inaugural Rainbow Wahine soccer team from 1994 season as the program will be recognized for its 30-year anniversary.
  • UCLA: A celebration of culture and diversity with "Island Style Day." All fans are being asked to wear their favorite green UH shirt to green out the stands in show of unity for a national television audience on CBS. All fans will be encouraged to bring ti leaves for good luck, while 500 ti leaves will be distributed to the student section. A keiki lei making station will be available, along with cultural performances, clear bag giveaway from game sponsor Bank of Hawai'i, the always exciting Allstate Kick promotion, and a fly-over before kickoff.
  • NORTHERN IOWA: From the words of Earth, Wind, and Fire, "Do you remember the 21st Night of September?" We plan to make it a memorable night with plenty of nostalgia, inducing 5,000 groovy cooling towels courtesy of our game sponsor Hawaiian Telcom. Listen closely throughout the night as you'll hear countless tunes from the Disco era from the sound system and the legendary UH Marching Band.
  • BOISE STATE: UH and game sponsor Heineken welcome all first responders including police firefighters, paramedics, and lifeguards for "Hawai'i Heroes Night." All first responders will receive a 30% discount off of tickets. UH marketing will be giving out 1,000 "Hawai'i Heroes" commemorative keychains, along with 500 white, and UH branded plastic fire helmets to the student section. Heineken will distribute 2,500 foam shakas to fans at Gate 2.
  • NEVADA: A game all UH fans look forward to is the annual "Homecoming Game." We'll remember the past as we welcome back the memorable 1999 Rainbow Warrior football team as they'll be accompanied by legendary head coach June Jones. We'll celebrate the now by making Homecoming all about the students as they'll have four chances to win four big prizes throughout the night, along with 2,000 face tattoos for kids. Both men's and women's basketball teams will be in attendance as they'll be recognized on the field for the starts of their seasons. OUTRIGGER Hotels and Resorts will be the presenting sponsor of the game.
  • UNLV: "Military Appreciation Night" sponsored by California Hotel and Casino welcomes all retired and active military personnel with a 50% discount on all tickets. Several branches of the military will be recognized in various ways throughout the evening. Prior to kickoff, fans will get to see a flyover featuring F-22 fighter jets. The UH Marching Band will be joined by armed forces marching bands for a performance.
  • NEW MEXICO: A night we say "Aloha and Mahalo" to the 2025 class for "Senior Night," sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank. All fans are asked to wear their favorite aloha attire in unity to show all the seniors the love and appreciation from the islands. A lei making station will be made available for keiki and fans alike to make custom leis for the seniors.

Other changes this season include…
  • The UH team bench will now occupy the makai sideline. The move allows more space for the home team, shade and close proximity to the locker room.
