Rainbow Sailors Place 15th At ICSA National Semifinals

BOSTON  – The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team wrapped up its 2023-24 campaign by placing 15th in the ICSA Open Fleet National Championship Semifinals.

UH entered the day in 13th and 55 points off the pace for a potential top-9 semifinal finish and advancement into the national finals. The 'Bows couldn't make up the ground however and finished the regatta with 448 points.

Host Harvard claimed the Eastern Semifinal with a low of 193 and Roger Williams won the Western. Those teams lead a pool of 18  that advance to Sunday and Monday's finals.

Trey Summers, Stella Taherian, Sophia Shaeffer and Kees Horn finished in 17th place in the A division with 260 points. Meanwhile, Erik Anderson, Amanda Turner and Everett McAvoy finished 12th in the B division with 188 points.

The coed sailors  closed what was another solid campaign that saw them finish in the top three in five of six fleet races this year, while capturing three regattas. It concluded in UH's second nationals bid in the last three years.
