IRVINE, Calif. – For the third consecutive week and fourth time this season, University of Hawai'i's
Louis Sakanoko was named the Big West's Freshman of the Week following the team's series sweep of UC Santa Barbara last week in Honolulu.
The Paris, France native led the team with 24 kills (3.00 avg.) and recorded 13 digs (1.63 avg.) and nine blocks (1.13 avg.) and hit .293 in the series. He had a match-high 15 kills, hitting .306 with seven digs, season-high six blocks, and one ace in a five-set win on Saturday. Sakanoko also recorded nine kills, hitting .273, with six digs and three blocks in a straight-set victory.

Tread Rosenthal, UH has won 10 of the 13 freshman awards this season. Rosenthal has a program-record six Freshman of the Week awards this season.
In his brief career, Sakanoko has made eight starts this season in 20 matches played. He joined the team one week prior to the start of the season and in time for the spring semester.
