Box Score SACRAMENTO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (4-7, 0-1 Big West) fell to host Sacramento State to open the Golden State Invitational on Friday at the Sacramento State Tennis Courts.
The Hornets won the doubles point with wins on the No. 3 and No. 1 court.
Sac State then sealed the sweep with wins on courts No. 6, 4, and 5. UH's
Blue Cockle fell to Michael Kaplan, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 and Adam Choda defeated UH's
Karl Collins, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 5, the Hornets' Jiri Novak downed UH's
Sohta Urano, 6-2, 6-4 for the match. UH's No. 3
Guillaume Tattevin was locked in a battle with Jay Silva. Silva won the first set, but Tattevin was leading 6-5 in the second when the match finished.
The Rainbow Warriors continue play in the Golden State Invitational on Saturday with a doubleheader. UH will face St. Mary's (CA) at 8:00 a.m. HT followed by Nevada at 12:00 p.m. HT. Both matches will be hosted at UC Davis' Marya Welch Tennis Center.
