IRVINE, Calif. – For the second consecutive week and third time this season, University of Hawai'i's
Louis Sakanoko was named the Big West's Freshman of the Week the team's series split of CSUN last week in Honolulu.
The Paris, France native started both matches and averaged a team-best 3.63 kills per set along with averages of 2.00 digs and 0.75 blocks per set. He hit .276 for the series with three aces.
In the series opener, the outside hitter tallied 10 kills, three aces, seven digs and three blocks in a four-set victory. The following night, he matched his season-high in kills with 19, hitting at a .324 clip, with nine digs and three blocks in a four-set loss.

Tread Rosenthal, UH has won nine of the 12 freshman awards this season. Rosenthal has a program-record six Freshman of the Week awards this season.
In his brief career, Sakanoko has made six starts this season in 18 matches played. He joined the team one week prior to the start of the season and in time for the spring semester.
